BPP or Ulaw?
Quote from Sophiehart on July 3, 2023, 1:40 pmHi everyone,
I recently finished my undergrad in law and want to study for the SQE so that I can be a solicitor. I'm torn between applying at BPP and the University of Law. Does anyone have any experience at either of these unis and know which one is better?
Also debating doing the SQE online so I can travel around the US for a year but I hear it's really difficult. Don't want to risk failing it and having to retake the course. Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure those with TCs have no choice because their firm will decide for them. However my sister did the LPC at BPP and said she hated it and that people were not very sociable, so maybe that's an indication.
I also heard the new SQE course is incredibly difficult and I am also concerned about this. I would personally play it safe and study in person, but if you think you can devote the time and effort whilst travelling you should go for it! studying online really sucked for me so I don't want to do that again, but I know some people prefer the flexibility it provides.

Quote from cyrianne15 on August 9, 2023, 9:25 amI'm currently studying MA Law at the University of Law and will be starting my BPC with them in September. Studying at ULaw has been a really great experience for me. Everyone I've met, from fellow students to staff, has been super nice and supportive. They also have this awesome pro-bono and employment service that helps you figure out how to boost your CV if you're not sure where to start.
Depending on the campus, a variety of facilities are available. All Ulaw campuses provide a highly efficient and well-equipped library service, as well as designated spaces for socializing with friends during breaks. In terms of success rates, both ULaw and BPP have a strong reputation for achieving high pass rates in their courses. Therefore, I believe that there would be minimal discernible difference between the two in this regard. At the end of the day I think it’s down to your own personal circumstances (e.g. cost, location of campus) and you should do your own research before deciding!
